Bonne Terre Mine
Bonne Terre, Missouri
So what is Bonne Terre Mines, and why is Buckeye Diving School going? Good questions and here are a few answers to that.
First, it is truly a unique diving adventure. This area was mined for the lead over 100 years ago and after hitting a spring flooded in just three days allowing enough time to get the miners and some of the gear out. Much of the mining equipment is left behind leaving a snap shot of days past for us to see. There are over 20 paths available to explore the mine and see all there is to see. All paths are lead by a trained dive guide.
Second, No matter the time of year the conditions are constant, air temperature is 64 degrees and the water is 58 degrees. There is more then a half a million candle light power there, so lighting is not going to be an issue.
Third, Mike Ruby and Patrick Forman will be completing their open water instructor class and want to lead this fun trip to celebrate all their hard work. Come join the guys on a trip surly to go down in the books as unforgettable.
